On December 9, the robot competitions took place for the first-year capstone project class in computer and software engineering (INF1995). A pair of robots from each of the class teams had to complete an obstacle course. It was a high-intensity event to mark the end of the students' first year at Polytechnique, and they were proud of their accomplishment.

Mobile robots equipped with various sensors had to be able to move across a table and recognize demarcations and limits while communicating with one another. Judges evaluated the robots' execution. A poster presentation followed the public demonstration. Google Montréal gave a prize to the members of the winning team to support the students in pursuing their studies at Polytechnique.
