Two Polytechnique teams take top competition honours at the 2012 Institute of Industrial Engineering Canadian convention in Halifax

Beating out some 10 other Canadian institutions, including University of Toronto, École de technologie supérieure, Concordia University, Université Laval and several more, two teams of Polytechnique Montréal students scored a veritable tour de force when both took first place in two major challenges: the Case Studies competition and the Theory competition.

In the Case Study challenge, the students had to solve, in a single day, a real problem at Nova Scotia's Garrison Brewery. In the Theory competition, the four young men and women had to put to the test all of the knowledge acquired during their university studies. The final result is all the more impressive because it was the second year in a row that Polytechnique took first place in these same two challenges.

The competitions took place during the Institute of Industrial Engineering Canadian annual convention held January 19–21 at Dalhousie University.

The winning teams:
Case Study competition:
•    Jessica Lauzon
•    Charles-André Guénette
•    Chloé Hébert Gérin-Lajoie
•    Andréanne Leduc
Theory competition:
•    Fanny Vautier
•    Zaïnab Sawan
•    Gabrielle Gauthier Melançon
•    François Trudeau
