Soumaya Yacout and Mohamad Sawan honoured during the Semaine québécoise des rencontres interculturelles (Québec cross-cultural week)
Organized by the Desjardins Group's Intercultural Relations Office, the October 1 event honoured some 20 people from different ethnocultural backgrounds.
During the gala evening held at Complexe Desjardins, Professors Soumaya Yacout and Mohamad Sawan both received a trophy in recognition of their special contributions as members of their own cultural communities and of Québec society.
Ms. Yacout is a full professor in the Department of Mathematical and Industrial Engineering. Mr. Sawan is a full professor
in the Department of Electrical Engineering.
