Professor Ke Wu awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal
Mr. Wu, a full professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal during a March 14 ceremony.
Professor Wu, who is also
Director of Polytechnique Montréal's Centre de recherche avancée en micro-ondes et en électronique spatiale (Advanced Research
Centre in Microwaves and Space Electronics —POLY-GRAMES) and its Centre de recherche en électronique radiofréquence
(Centre for Research in Radiofrequency Electronics — CRÉER), is considered to be among the most brilliant researchers and
teachers in his field. He is recognized internationally for his innovative research in applied electromagnetics, particularly
radiofrequency and millimeter-wave engineering for the development of wireless broadband systems, communications technologies
and wireless sensor networks. Professor Wu is the pioneer of the revolutionary concept of substrate integrated circuits
technology for use in future systems.
The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. During the year of celebrations, 60,000 deserving Canadians were recognized. The Chancellery of Honours, as part of the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General, administers the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal program.
