In November, Christophe Caloz, Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering and holder of the Canada Research Chair in Future Intelligent Radio-frequency Metamaterials, had his book Electromagnetic Metamaterials: Transmission Line Theory and Microwave Applications published by Wiley-IEEE Press.

"Metamaterials are new artificial electromagnetic structures that exhibit properties not readily available in nature. They have already been used in a great many unique applications," says Professor Caloz.

Electromagnetic Metamaterials: Transmission Line Theory and Microwave Applications is the first textbook on metamaterials and provides an overview of the latest innovations in the field. Recommended for engineers and physicists, the book covers the fundamental aspects of metamaterials from basic physics to the most recent microwave applications.
