Polytechnique Montréal's "The Whale" team wins a case study competition in aerospace innovation
Students will have the opportunity to tour the aerospace engineering department at Swansea University in Wales.
The competition, which began April 27, challenged students from Québec engineering universities and schools specializing in aerospace to respond to a case study aiming to develop a cargo plane concept while respecting high technical and commercial constraints.
The competition was organized by Aéro Montréal, Québec's aerospace cluster, in partnership with the British Consulate-General and the John Molson School of Business. It aimed to reward student savoir-faire in the realm of aerospace innovation. The case study competition, called “The Aircraft of the Future Is in Your Hands,” was held during the symposium titled “Innovation is GREAT: Engineering for Sustainable Growth.”
The
Polytechnique team, named “The Whale” and made up of Alexandre Desmarais, Mikaël Perreault, Carl Perron and Rémi
Simard, took the competition's first prize, which comes with a trip to Wales. During the trip, the students will visit Swansea University along with Dr. Ben Evans, Senior Lecturer in Aerospace
Engineering, who was one of the competition's judges.
Congratulations to the winners!
