Polytechnique engages with Academic Impact, a global United Nations initiative

Launched last November in New York City, Academic Impact, an initiative of the United Nations, was created to align institutions of higher leaning worldwide with UN principles. Polytechnique Montréal is proud to join this forward-looking movement.

With nearly 600 member universities and other institutions around the planet, Academic Impact brings academia to the active support of 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, literacy, sustainability and conflict resolution. Each year, Academic Impact also asks each participating college or university to actively demonstrate support of at least one of these principles.

"Of course, the UN and the academic community already enjoy strong partnerships but Academic Impact will deepen it further for the 21st century," UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said at the launch news conference in November,
Polytechnique is proud to support this association as an official member.
