Poly eRacing: a positive result for 2013!

August 29, 2013 - Source : NEWS
The most recent results from Poly eRacing, Polytechnique Montréal's electric race car group, are promising for future competitions!

In June, technical society Poly eRacing finished fourth among 20 teams in the general ranking of the Formula SAE Electric Lincoln 2013, a major competition held in Lincoln, Nebraska. The competition was the very first American one to welcome student electric race cars.

The team ranked fifth in the Cost Report, sixth for Business Presentation and fourth in the Design Event. Due to technical difficulties, the security certificates that would allow the team to take part in the dynamic events were not all handed in on time. Only one of the 19 other teams succeeded in taking part in these events.

The other Canadian universities enrolled in the competition – McGill, Université de Sherbrooke and University of Manitoba – were not able to complete their vehicles in time, making Poly eRacing the best electrical race car team in Canada, as well as positioning it in the leading group at the pan-American level. The team, enriched by the experience, is now focusing on the next prototype, already well underway.

A trophy was awarded to the team to mark its fourth place in the general ranking. Poly eRacing is proud to add it to Polytechnique Montréal's collection of trophies and plaques, located on the first floor of the main building near the security desk.

In 2012, the technical society became the first electrical team from the Americas to take part in the Formula Student Germany, the biggest and most prestigious electric vehicle competition in the world.

The technical society is also a finalist in the Forces AVENIR university program in the Environment category. Winners will be acknowledged at the gala, to be held October 2.

Congratulations!
