Marianne-Mareschal Chair: networking evening to highlight the work done by women in engineering

October 22, 2013 - Source : NEWS

The Marianne-Mareschal Chair recently held a Procter & Gamble (P&G) networking evening at Polytechnique Montréal. This gave students a great opportunity to learn more about the multinational company and meet with industry professionals.

Mechanical engineer Ariane Morin (Polytechnique 2008), who was joined by two colleagues from P&G, talked about her professional background and discussed the career opportunities and internships available at the company. More than 40 students took part in the event, which was aimed at highlighting the work done by women in engineering.

The Marianne-Mareschal Chair has been raising awareness of the engineering profession among female students at Polytechnique since 1998. Female professors have teamed up with various stakeholders in Québec's science and technology community to encourage young women to see engineering as an accessible, stimulating, dynamic and socially important career path. Through its activities, the Chair targets young women at all levels of education as well as the various stakeholders with whom they interact.
