February 8, 2011 - Source : NEWS

Polytechnique played host to the 2011 Institute of Industrial Engineering Canadian convention January 13-16.

The conference at the Delta Centre-Ville hotel brought together more than 350 students who spent three days attending a variety of presentations, going on industrial tours and participating in competitions.

Polytechnique students also performed brillianty in the competitions. Congratulations to the industrial engineering students who won two of the four challenges: the theoretical competition and especially the case study competition, the latter of which was a convention highlight. The event ended with a banquet whose honorary chair was Maude Cohen, President of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, who attended these annual conventions herself when she was a student in Polytechnique's Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering.

Bravo to Laurie Lanoue and her team for their outstanding job organizing the Institute of Industrial Engineering Canadian convention, and to the professors and participants who were directly or indirectly involved.
