Following the Robofolies event at the Science Centre in the Old Port of Montréal, École Polytechnique's SAE Robotics has been invited to present its projects at the regional finals of the Expo-Sciences Bell Science Fairs from March 10 to 31.

The Science Fairs, which offers high school and cégep students unique experiences in the world of science, invite various representatives from the scientific community to participate in the event. The SAE team has been invited to attend the finals, where it will give a public demonstration of its new Nexus prototype.

Dates and locations:

  • North Shore Regional Final (Lanaudière, Laurentians, Laval), at Polyvalente Sainte-Thérèse (401 Domaine Sainte-Thérèse Blvd.), March 10 to 12.
  • Montréal Regional Final, at École secondaire Saint-Laurent (Pavillon Émile-Legault, 2395, Thimens Blvd., Saint-Laurent), March 17 to 19.

Robot Systems Challenge Competition 2005
SAE Robotics will attend another exciting event in 2005: the North American Robot Systems Challenge, to be held at École de technologie supérieure (ETS) beginning April 28.

The team, which will compete against university representatives from Canada, the United States and Mexico, will demonstrate the skills of its robot, Nexus, during the various challenges, which include: Drop and Dash, Treasure Hunt, Collect the Eggs, Endurance and Obstacle Challenge, Tug-of-War, and Over & Under (robots must climb over an obstacle and pass under a horizontal, overhead obstruction).

It will be a busy spring for SAE Robotics and we wish the team much success!
