Ms. Boulay won the award from the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) for her groundbreaking work on water impact assessment modelling in life cycle analysis (LCA).

Ms. Boulay completed her PhD at Polytechnique Montréal's Department of Chemical Engineering in 2013 and is currently a postdoctoral intern at the Interuniversity Research Centre for the Life Cycle of Products, Processes and Services (CIRAIG). Her research focused on the development of water footprinting methods within the LCA framework. She made original and important scientific contributions during her PhD research, which was reproduced in many peer-reviewed publications. Ms. Boulay is already familiar to the SETAC community, having won the SETAC Young Scientist Award for Best Platform Presentation in 2010.

In addition to her scientific research, Ms. Boulay led, and continues to lead, many water footprinting activities in the international LCA community, where she is recognized for her capacity to generate consensus among different methodological points of view. She is the Canadian delegate in the ISO Water Footprint Standard Working Group and is currently chairing the Water Use LCA (WULCA) group under the UNEP-SETAC Life Cycle Initiative. Her contributions to a two-day water footprint training program for developing countries under a UNEP program have also been noted.

Our heartiest congratulations!
