Université de Montréal Carabins star attacker Christian Bernier has been announced as the unanimous selection as Québec's university Volleyball Player of the Year. This is the second year in a row he has won the title.

Statistics worthy of a champion
The École Polytechnique Mechanical Engineering student finished the season with 402 points, including 317 kills, for an average of 5.74 points per game. He also had 31 service aces as well as 179 digs, or attack receptions, while maintaining an excellent 83% service reception average. Those statistics were good enough to secure him a ranking among the top five players in the country.

The Volleyball Player of the Year title is the latest in a series of honours for the student since the beginning of the year. Among other accolades, he was named team sports athlete of the year at the Québec University Sports Gala as well as teammate of the year at the Soirée des lauréats montréalais.

A promising future
Christian is finishing his fifth and final season on the university sports circuit, and is currently taking steps to start a career as a professional player in France, while continuing to study toward a master's degree.

The entire Polytechnique community is proud of our champion!
