This important award was presented today as part of the TELUS Celebration of Giving in Montréal, an annual event that brings together more than 150 professionals and volunteers from the philanthropy sector. The day is organized to recognize the generosity and dedication of all those who make a difference in their communities.

Today, TELUS and the Québec chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) honoured three advocates of community engagement from the Greater Montréal area. These winners of the TELUS Community Excellence Award are recognized as being leaders in community involvement.

The three winners—Bernard Lamarre, Chair of the Board of Directors of Polytechnique Montréal; Manon Barbeau, Co-Founder, Executive Director and Artistic Director of Wapikoni mobile, and Ugo Dionne, Co-Founder of Bénévoles d'affaires, all of whom excel for their philanthropic engagement and their passion for innovation—were selected in collaboration with the Québec chapter of the AFP from among 200 leaders across the province. The competition was launched during the festivities surrounding TELUS's 85th anniversary in Québec with the help of La Presse and Le Soleil.
