Two hundred young people participated in the 29th edition of this prestigious competition and Polytechnique's delegation mounted the podium a total of five times, in four of the seven competitions.

Junior Design: 2nd place
Team: Sabrina Watelle, Rébecca Beaumont, Philippe Doré-Mathieu and Jérémie Lavoie-Doyon

Re-engineering: Two teams tied for 2nd place
Team 1: Maxime Tousignant, Jérôme Solis
Team 2: Maxence Lenoir, Bastien Mony

Innovative design: 3rd place
Team: William Trottier-Lapointe, Paul Shenouda, Guillaume Nyami and Geneviève Foley

Scientific communication: 3rdplace
Team: Adriana Houle (note that she competed alone while the other faculties had two-person teams)
Additional prize: Adriana also won the Distinction Féminine (woman of distinction) award.

Other standout performances were turned in by the Senior Design (Jonathan Legault, Olivier Grant, Frédéric Bélanger-Ouellet and David Richard), Consulting Engineering (Vincent Simard, Jennifer Nguyen, Audrey Bazerghi and Jeremy Cuningham) and Oratory Debate (Julie Malouin and Gabriel Doré-Mathieu) teams, which did not attain the podium but proudly represented Polytechnique!

Since 1985, the CQI has brought together students from engineering faculties across Québec for a fun and spirited event where they can demonstrate their know-how in design and communication. The teams that finished in first place will head to Ottawa for the Canadian Engineering Competition from March 7 to 10.
