Founded in 1873, Polytechnique Montréal is one of Canada’s leading engineering education and research institutions, andthe standard-bearer for engineering research in Quebec . Internationally recognized, the university welcomes more than 10,000 students and offers over 120 programs across various engineering disciplines. With nearly 300 faculty members and more than 140 research units, the university contributes to the advancement of knowledge and innovation.

Budget and Financial Governance

As of 2016 Polytechnique Montréal has committed to a transparent and accessible budgetary process known as a Structurally Balanced Budget (SBB), as per criteria set by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). Implementation of an improved bugetization process and its alignment with the Polytechnique's Strategic Plan began in autumn 2015. We were granted GFOA certification in 2017.
