Three students rewarded for their personal electrical engineering projects (ELE3000)
On December 6, awards were presented for the best projects completed as part of the Projet personnel en génie électrique (personal electrical engineering project) course (ELE3000). Once again, the students demonstrated great rigour and presented high-quality projects.
Under the guidance of a professor or engineer designated by the department, students are assigned an engineering design mandate. They have to produce a professional-quality report that generally includes a review of past work, the definition and situation of the problem, the chosen method and solution, the results obtained and a discussion. The project concludes with a poster presentation. Polytechnique would like to thank BPR for its generous financial support and for its employees' involvement in our students' capstone projects.
Three prizes were awarded by the jury:
1st prize: $500, Frédéric Boivin: Magnetic agitator for yeast multiplication.
2nd prize, $300: Claude-Thierry Pembellot: Design and manufacture of an alternator for a mini-windmill.
3rd prize, $200: Jean-David De Medeiros: Design of a secure line-following robot.
