From April 13 to 21, 2012, a delegation of four Polytechnique Montréal students will compete for the first time in the Course Croisière EDHEC, an international sailing competition that takes place in La Rochelle, France.

For one week, more than 3,000 students from 25 countries will take part in a series of sea races along the shores of Brittany. PolyVoile is the only team from a Canadian engineering school to enter the EDHEC sailing cup. The delegation is made up of four students: Bastien Mony, Laurent-David Beaulieu and Amélie Bourduge, all in the mechanical engineering program, and Marie-Laure de Boutray (civil engineering). Together, they have trained for the experience with plenty of enthusiasm and determination.

The PolyVoile team
PolyVoile is a committee formed of some 15 students from various engineering streams who share a passion for sailing! Formed just two years ago, thanks to the support of Tuan Nguyen, director of Polytechnique's Centre de formation continue (centre for continuing education) and an avid sailor himself, the group has trained all year for this major interuniversity competition. This is the group's first international competition.

Let's wish them the best of luck!

Some 3,000 participants and 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the competition, providing a unique opportunity to talk about the various programs offered at the universities represented.
