Remembering and reflecting


The pain has eased and life goes on ... but we still remember the 13 Polytechnique Montréal students and one staff member who lost their lives on December 6, 1989, as well as the people who remain wounded by this tragedy.

The community has chosen to favour a simple commemoration, more personal in nature. Therefore, early on the morning of December 6, a bouquet of 14 white roses will be placed before the memorial plaque, and campus flags will be lowered to half-mast. White ribbons, symbol of the struggle to stop violence against women, will be available at the office of Polytechnique's Department of Institutional Affairs and General Secretariat (Room B-210).
