Undergraduate Summer Internship Award Program

PRESENTATION

Our Undergraduate Summer Internship Award Program offers students enrolled in scientific bachelor's programs at Canadian universities the chance to obtain competitive funding for a promising research internship under the supervision of a Polytechnique Montréal professor.

Application deadline: Sunday, February 1st 2026

For the summer of 2026, the program features multidisciplinary and innovative internship projects in the following fields:

Stages de recherche en cybersécuritéCYBERSECURITY | From governments to private companies, from aeronautics to finance, and from individual users to entire populations of major metropolitan areas, everyone is exposed to the technological and human challenges and growing threats of cyberattacks. Protecting personal data, securing financial transactions, defending critical infrastructures such as power grids and healthcare systems, and preserving the confidentiality of communications are all essential aspects of cybersecurity. Given this context, cybersecurity research plays a crucial role in our society, enabling us to develop new defense technologies, improve existing security protocols, anticipate future attacks and cope with the constant evolution of cybercriminals’ tactics.

Stages de recherche en génie chimiqueCHEMICAL ENGINEERING | Research in chemical engineering focuses on understanding, designing, and optimizing processes that involve physical, chemical, or biological transformations to produce materials, products, and energy more efficiently and sustainably and to provide innovative solutions to society and industries. It encompasses the study of chemical reactions, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, as well as the modelling and control of industrial processes. Relying on advanced experimental and computational tools, this research drives innovation in areas such as environmental protection, clean energy, water treatment, advanced materials, biomanufacturing, agri-food and pharmaceuticals. Overall, it helps address major challenges related to sustainability, safety, and the efficiency of industrial processes.

Stages de recherche en génie civilCIVIL ENGINEERING | Research in civil engineering aims to develop solutions to major urban and environmental challenges and spans several fields, including sustainable infrastructure, geotechnics, hydraulics, transportation, sustainable mobility, and the environment (drinking water and wastewater treatment, waste management, and contaminated site remediation). It involves developing new knowledge, methods, and technologies to design, build, and maintain safer, more sustainable, and higher-performing infrastructure, and helps address current challenges such as climate change, infrastructure resilience, and the ecological transition.
