Research team
Chairholder Dr. Abdellah Ajji will work closely with a team of approximately 10 researchers (two research associates, two postdoctoral fellows and six graduate students) on an annual basis.
Research themes
Research at the 3SPack Chair focuses on four main themes:
- Developing safe, high-performance and cost-effective packaging (improved seal, barrier, antibacterial properties and effectiveness)
- Developing “smart” packaging by incorporating sensors into the films;
- Developing sustainable packaging that uses less material and offers recyclability and biodegradability
- Developing specific applications using multilayer structures for pouches in which the contents can be cooked
