Collaborative Initiatives to Address COVID-19 Challenges

March 19, 2020

TransMedTech Institute stands in solidarity with its institutions and the public by announcing the new "Technological Innovations - COVID-19" competition.

Call for needs, technological innovations and expertise to fight COVID-19

As part of its mission to mobilize innovation in medical technologies, the TransMedTech Institute is launching a specific call for proposals. In the wake of the global effort to counter the COVID-19 pandemic, the focus is on clinical needs, expertise and/or technological innovations. The call aims to set up collaborative projects rapidly to develop "innovative technological solutions likely to respond to the many challenges of the current VIDOC-19 crisis". New initiatives shoud be able to have a start date within 2 to 4 weeks, and main deliverables achievable within 2 to 6 months.

This call also differs from traditional calls for projects. As such, you may send us directly your proposal, including clinical needs, your offers of expertise and/or submit a request for support for a technological innovation. With its Living Lab approach, the TransMedTech Institute will quickly process the proposals to co-construct projects to be started in agile mode within 2-4 weeks time, including financial support. The TransMedTech contribution could range from $5,000 to $50,000 per project and include additional contributions from other partners. The criteria for project selection will be relevance, importance, feasibility and rapid impact to fight COVID-19 and its consequences. All TransMedTech ecosystem partners are invited to participate.

It is anticipated that successful proposals will be evaluated and prioritized in a timely manner. If your proposal appears promising, you may be contacted directly to gain a better understanding of the need, expertise or project.
