Fully-Immersive Virtual Reality Simulator for Retinal Surgery Training

High-fidelity virtual reality (VR) simulation provides a safe environment to learn vitreoretinal surgery. The high cost and limited mobility of current surgical simulators hinder their worldwide adoption. By leveraging on the powerful processors, cameras and sensors of commercially-available VR headsets, we aim to build a low-cost, fully-immersive, VR simulator for vitreoretinal surgery.
