Research areas description
The mission of the Sustainable Engineering Institute is to effectively deploy sustainable engineering through an interdisciplinary and intersectoral research and education program. Further, it seeks to promote innovation and the transfer of knowledge, solutions and technologies to economic actors, governments and civil society.
The Institute pursues five main objectives:
- Accelerate the transition to a net-zero economy by increasing sustainable engineering research and innovation capacity.
- Transform the training of new generations of engineers by emphasizing sustainable engineering perspectives that cuts across all engineering disciplines.
- Drive innovation and the transfer of knowledge, solutions, and technologies via sustainable innovation ecosystems in strategic sectors of the ecological and energy transition.
- Promote the co-construction of global solutions by forging close ties with societal stakeholders.
- Formulate and promote sustainable engineering solutions and the net-zero economy transition.
