Detailed description
Our previous work using chitosan-based biomaterials in tissue repair models has not allowed us to elaborate and draw firm conclusions on the mechanisms involved in the repair process. A skin repair model will be developed in the rat. A detailed histological and mechanical examination of the repair tissues at early, intermediate and later time points post-treatment will allow us to further investigate the modes of action of chitosan-based biomaterials and study structure-function relationships.
Financing possibility
Project funded by the research fund of the Biomaterials and Cartilage Laboratory
