Research areas description
The Research Group in Biomedical Sciences and Technologies (GRSTB for Groupe de recherche en sciences et technologies biomédicales), funded by the FRQS (Fonds de la recherche du Québec - Santé), is a multidisciplinary research group in the field of Biomedical Engineering. The GRSTB has 34 regular members on the campus of Polytechnique Montreal and the University of Montreal, and in its affiliated hospitals' research centres. Note: only the 29 members affiliated with Polytechnique are listed on this page (27 regular members and 2 associated members).
The group's research programs mainly fall under the following themes: 1) biomaterials and biomechanics, 2) imaging and signal processing, 3) nanomedicine and regenerative medicine.
The mission of the GRSTB is to promote emerging research areas in these themes, to create synergy and collaboration among its members, and to reinforce the links between campus laboratories, hospital laboratories and clinics, and industrial partners.
