Louis Fradette has completed his training as an engineer in chemical engineering at Laval University in 1989. Since his graduation, he spent 10 years as a professional in industry and 10 years in academic research. He received his Ph.D. in 1999 jointly by the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal and the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine, Nancy, France. His industrial experience is particularly rich as it intersects with the refining of crude oil, oil sands, the concentration of many minerals and the manufacture and no form of composites. During these 10 years, he worked in North America, South America and Europe. Since 2004, Louis Fradette contributes to the advancement of knowledge at the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal where he became assistant professor in September 2007. Following his research, he has published nearly 40 articles in international journals and trained over 30 students from student to postdoc. He regularly acts as a consultant with a half-dozen Canadian and international companies.
