COVID-19 – Remote services offered while the Library is not accessible

March 23, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Library is not accessible. However, many of our services are provided remotely to support the community.

Electronic Resources

Our digital collections (e-books, articles, conference papers, etc.) are remotely available to Polytechnique Montréal students, professors, and employees. To access electronic resources from outside the campus, you must configure the proxy on your computer, tablet or phone.

→ Discover how to configure the proxy

→ Access the Library catalogue and databases to find documents.

→ Browse our subject guides to find useful resources.

Several scientific publishers and electronic resource providers have decided to offer free access to resources that are usually not free of charge on a temporary basis to support educational institutions that need to offer distance education. Learn more about this (in French).

Resources on E-Learning

Our guide about engineering education includes a section on e-learning. Check it out to discover useful resources that are remotely accessible.

Late Fees

Borrowed documents must be returned when the Library reopens. Late fees will be waived.

If you are leaving the city or country and you would like to return some documents, place them in the bins set up for this purpose in front of the Main Building entrance and at the 1st floor entrance of the Lassonde Buildings between the two doors.

Interlibrary Loan

The interlibrary loan (ILL) service is maintained, but only for electronic documents. In addition, since all university libraries are affected by this situation, some documents may be more difficult to obtain than usual. No print materials can be loaned or digitized at this time.
