Types of publication

All types of documents have been indexed including magazine articles, conference papers, books and book chapters, technical reports and patents. All theses and dissertations accepted by the school have also been indexed.

Processing of information

Records downloaded from bibliographic databases are imported into the ProCite software. Information processing involves elimination of duplicate entries, standardizing content in some fields and identifying the various Polytechnique authors. As well, we add the names of the departments in which they worked at the time of publication. Also included are the research fields of Polytechnique authors, based on the nomenclature used by NSERC, and the Web address of the page set aside for Polytechnique authors on the BRCDT site. Lastly, the Web version of the directory is produced from the ProCite version.

Annual updates

• April: Downloading, processing and enhancement of publication records from the previous year.
• May: Professors and researchers at the school solicited for additions or corrections.
• June: Publication records transferred to Web version of the directory.
• November: Downloading, processing and integration of publication records relating to theses and dissertations accepted by the school during the previous year. No validation is sought from professors.
