The Department offers 4 Graduate programs in engineering physics.
DESS : Specialized higher-education diploma (Diplôme d'études supérieures spécialisées)
This program is aimed at students holding a Bachelors degree in sciences who want to complete their studies with graduate courses. The program consists of 30 lectures credits, with a maximum of 9 undergraduate credits.
M.Ing. : Course-oriented Master degree
This Masters degree program is for student who want to develop their professional skills. It focuses on the acquisition of specialized skills in one particular area of Engineering. This program requires 45 credits with between 30 and 39 credits associated with lectures including a maximum of 9 undergraduate course credits and 6 to 15 credits for a research project or an internship.
M.Sc.A. : Research-oriented Master degree
This Masters degree program is for student who want to develop their scientific and research skills. Consisting of 45 credits, the program includes 15 course credits including a maximum of 9 undergraduate course credits. The program also includes 30 credits for a research project. Most graduate students choose a Masters of Applied Sciences over a Masters of Engineering.
Ph.D. : Philosophiae Doctor degree
This program aims at developing a high level of knowledge, intellectual ability, scientific curiosity and creativity in order to succeed in a research or a teaching career. It consists of 90 credits, including 10 to 30 graduate course credits and the remainder for a research project.
The department also offers DESS, M. Ing., M. Sc. A. programs in energy engineering as well a a Ph.D. program in nuclear engineering at the Institute of nuclear engineering.
