Two students studying in Engineering Physics win a price at Excelle Science 2009

May 8th, 2009 - To help young women in their choice of careers, the provincial contest Chapeau les filles and its University section Excelle science reward every year women who display determination and perseverance in domains of studies and careers predominantly chosen by men, including engineering. This year, twyoung women studying Engineering Physics at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal were among the prize-winners! They were honored on May 4th of this year during a ceremony held at the Monument National in Montreal.

Bouchra Ouatik received the Grand Price of 5 000 $ and Catherine Cadieux received an internship in a University Laboratory.

The Marianne-Mareschal Chair of l'École Polytechnique de Montréal offered this year again, along with the NSERC/Industrielle-Alliance Quebec Chair for women in science and engineering , an internship in a University Laboratory. Professor Nathalie of Marcellis-Warin presented the price.

Louis-Philippe Carignan receives a Vanier Canada Scholarship

June 9th, 2009 - Louis-Philippe Carignan, a graduate student in engineering physics, received one of the 166 first scholarships of the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships Program.

This distinction, the most prestigious for doctorate in the country, was awarded to him by the NSERC for the exceptional quality of his research project. under the direction of Professor David Ménard and Professor Christophe Caloz.

The Vanier CGS program aims to attract and retain world-class doctoral students by supporting students who demonstrate a high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health; as well as leadership skills. Both Canadian and international students are eligible to be nominated for a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship. A Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship is valued at $50,000 per year, for up to three years.

Bouchra Ouatik receives a CEMF engineering scholarship

Bouchra Ouatik received a Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation scholarship valued 5000$ rewarding Canadian women who showed to be leaders, volunteers, involved in numerous community activities and who are willing to go out of their way to inspire others.

Congratulations to our OSA Students

The OSA section won in Rochester the « 2006 Student Chapter Excellence Award » The judges were impressed by their realizations and unanimously chose our OSA chapter to win the prize. There are about a hundred OSA sections all over the world.

 

Five Students invited to Tokyo University

Five of our Students were invited by Tokyo University's Industrial Science to represent Canada for their autumn session.
