CREPEC : Research Center for High Performance Polymer and Composite Systems (previously known as Center for Applied Research on Polymers and Composites)

CREPEC springs from the uniting of three research centers. In 2003, to better answer to new scientific research demands from Canada and Quebec, members of the Centre for Applied Polymer Research (CRASP) from École Polytechnique, the Concordia Center for Composites (CONCOM) and the Centre on Composite Materials for Civil Engineering Structures (MCSGC) from Université de Sherbrooke took counsel together and created a new strategic cluster on polymer and composite materials.

Many researchers from École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), Universités Laval and McGill University eventually joined the group to give form to the driving force of research in the province of Quebec.
CREPEC’s leadership is insured by highly skilled individuals in the areas of scientific research, technological innovation, management and communication.

The Director’s board consists of the following members:

                                                     Favis               Hoa

                                                         Basil Favis                          Suong Hoa

                                                           Director                           Co-director

Daniel Poirier                            Michel Huneault                        Frej Mighri

The scientific committee advises the directors on the orientations and the priorities of the center.
It proposes among other things integrating scientific projects which will promote the dissemination of knowledge and sharing of resources. The committee is formed of 8 scientists from Canadian academia, industry and from CREPEC.

The following scientists make up the committee: Prof. Anoush Poursartip (University of British Columbia), Prof. U.T. Sundararaj (University of Calgary), Dr. Isabelle Paris (Bombardier Aerospace), Vincent D'Arienzo (Bell Helicopter Textron Canada), Pierre Larivière (Consortium Innovation Polymères (CIP)), Dr. Andrew Johnston (CNRC) and CREPEC members, Prof. Basil Favis (École Polytechnique), Prof. Abdellah Ajji (École Polytechnique) and Prof. Pascal Hubert (Université McGill).
