Biography

Dr. Chen received his B.Eng. degree in Applied Mathematics and M. Eng. (Research) degree in Industrial Management Engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China, in 1982 and 1984, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, University of Manitoba in 1991. He was a faculty member in Industrial Systems Engineering at University of Regina, Saskatchewan, from 1991 to 1999. He was an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Concordia University from 1999 to 2006 and a full Professor since 2006. Dr. Chen is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) a member of Canadian Operational Research Society (CORS) and a senior member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE).
