Concours Augustin-Frigon: winners' names announced!
For the second edition of the Entretiens Augustin-Frigon, four Poly-Monde students and the winner of the first Prix Augustin-Frigon had a discussion with Paul Desmarais, Jr., Chair and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Power Corporation Canada. Their conversation was filmed, and the highlights were turned into six short videos. In the fall of 2014, the Polytechnique community was invited to watch the videos and share their reactions in the form of essays or videos concerning one of the topics discussed.
The jury selected not one but two winning essays: by Jeanne Mercier, master's student in biomedical engineering, and Dominic Villiard, Development Officer in the Department of Academic and International Affairs. The two winners are sharing a $1,000 prize for the quality of their work.

Since 1981, the Conférences Augustin-Frigon have presented high-level speakers at Polytechnique: Nobel Prize winners, members of the Académie française and personalities who have marked our era with their knowledge, accomplishments and thought. For a second consecutive year, the lectures have taken the shape of interviews that were filmed and turned into short video series.
