Professor Christophe Caloz among the world's most highly cited researchers

Christophe Caloz, a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Polytechnique, is on the prestigious Thomson Reuters list of Highly Cited Researchers. He is the only professor at Polytechnique to appear in this international ranking. Only 90 researchers affiliated with Canadian institutions, including eight from institutions in Québec, are part of the ranking.   

The Highly Cited Researchers 2014 list showcases scientists who are at the forefront of their fields. It includes of some 3,000 researchers whose scientific papers rank among the top one percent most cited, in all disciplines, attesting to the exceptional impact of their research.

Professor Caloz has published over 500 journal articles, letters and conference papers, 12 books and book chapters, and holds several patents. He is a member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) MTT-15 and MTT-25 Technical Committees, a speaker with the MTT-15 Speakers Bureau and Chair of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI) Canadian Commission D (Electronics and Photonics). In 2009, he co-founded a spinoff company called ScisWave. He has received several awards, including the UCLA Chancellor's Award for Post-Doctoral Research in 2004, the MTT-S Outstanding Young Engineer Award in 2007, the Urgel-Archambault award from Acfas (Association francophone pour le savoir) in 2013, as well as an E.W.R. Steacie Memorial Fellowship in 2013. He has been a Fellow of the IEEE since 2010, and was recently appointed Distinguished Lecturer by the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S).

His research interests include the fields of theoretical, computational and technological electromagnetics engineering, with strong emphasis on emerging and multidisciplinary topics.
