Borrowing material from other Canadian and Quebec universities
Are you looking for documents that are not available in our collection? Don’t worry!
Your Polytechnique ID card gives you access to collections in all campus libraries (Polytechnique, Université de Montréal and HEC). In addition, the CREPUQ card gives you access to university library collections across Quebec and Canada.
You can borrow documents from HEC Montréal library and Université de Montréal libraries by presenting your valid Polytechnique ID card or, optionally, with an official document certifying your status and a photo ID. Borrowing privileges vary based on your status:
|Loan items||Loan period|
|Undergraduate students||10||21 days|
|Graduate students||20||28 days|
|Faculty and staff||30||28 days|
You can also borrow documents in person at other Canadian and Quebec university libraries using the BCI card, which can be obtained free of charge from the library’s Circulation Desk. It is the quickest way to obtain an item found at another university in Montreal. With the BCI card, undergraduate students can borrow up to three volumes for a period of 14 days, and graduate students can borrow up to ten volumes for a period of 21 days. Borrowed documents can be returned either directly to the lending library or to Polytechnique library.
Consult Other Library Catalogues to locate your document and to see if it is available in the other library for borrowing.
